CSS Exam Written Test Guideline.

 CSS Exam Written Test Pattern:


A candidate has to appear in the following four parts of CSS Exam.

-Written Exam

-Medical Test

-Psychological Test

-Viva Voce


Written Exam

1. For each Compulsory Paper: Allocate an appropriate amount of time, such as 2-3 hours, depending on the complexity and number of questions in the paper. Each compulsory paper will likely carry 100 marks, given that there are 6 compulsory papers, the total marks for the compulsory section would be 600 marks. 

2. For each Optional Paper: Allocate a similar amount of time, typically 2-3 hours, as for the compulsory papers. Each optional paper may also carry 100 marks, resulting in a total of 600 marks for the optional section.

Overall, the CSS written exam would have a total of 1200 marks, with 600 marks for compulsory papers and 600 marks for optional papers.

Note

➡️A subject that is worth 100 marks consists of a single paper. On the other hand, a subject with a value of 200 marks comprises two papers.

➡️When it comes to question papers in languages such as Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, or Balochi, as well as Arabic and Persian, the answers must be provided in the respective languages. However, for translation questions from these languages to English, the answers should be given as instructed in the question.

➡️All compulsory papers, except for the Essay paper, will have 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Similarly, all optional papers will contain 20 MCQs, except for the Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics papers.
